Someone was telling me that it is not legal to accept money from a person who is just renting for a one week vacation and give it to the owner of the property without having a real estate license. Is this true? where might I be able to find info on this to proove this to him. I don’t think that you have to.

anyone can act on behalf of the property owner, as long as the property owner hired him.

For such activity and others do not check your state real estate licensing board regulations.

For just one week dont think that is true in most states real estate comission or local property management company to get fuzzy depending on the state but you should double check with your states do require property owner for this work you should.
The property managers do not have to get fuzzy depending on your state but dont worry about it now if you should double check with your states real estate comission or local property managers do not have to.
